Club

The Sant Pere Pescador Nautical Club is located on the right bank of the river Fluvià. On the opposite channel of the port we find the town center.

The river port is located two kilometers from the mouth of the river Fluvià, and is navigable with small boats along this entire stretch. Its location, apart from being unbeatable, is strategic, away from the marinade winds.

The Fluvià is a river located within the predominant area of the Aiguamolls de l’Empordà Natural Park and therefore has a privileged environment. The entrance and exit from the mouth to the port has a special charm as it involves a beautiful walk along the river, on the banks of which are often found fishermen. Throughout this route, it passes through places of extraordinary ecological and landscape singularity. The left bank of the island is the navigable sector of the Integral Reserve, and is occupied by a riparian forest with a good ecological status.

History

The Sant Pere Pescador Nautical Club is located on the right bank of the river Fluvià, which is located in the predominant area of the Aiguamolls de l’Empordà Natural Park and therefore has a privileged environment. The entrance and exit from the mouth to the port has a special charm, as it involves a beautiful walk along the river, on the banks of which are often found fishermen.

Throughout this route, it passes through places of extraordinary ecological and landscape singularity. Places such as Mig de dos riu, currently owned by the Territori i Paisatge foundation, the ill-named Caramany Island or the artificial Caramany Island, an integral reserve of the Aiguamolls de l’Empordà, are a clear example. In these areas we can find a rich and varied fauna and flora. The left bank of the island is the navigable sector of the Integral Reserve, and is occupied by a riparian forest with a good ecological status.

The river port was built by the Club Nàutic Sant Pere Pescador in 1974. The seventies were a time when tourist development was already more than evident and therefore, facilities of this nature, intended for leisure and recreation. water sport, they were already proliferating everywhere. Perhaps its uniqueness is mainly focused on the fact that it is a river port unlike the rest that are maritime. The promoters of the project were the Sant Pere Pescador Nautical Club association and the initial work consisted of a berth for sports and fishing boats and a breakwater.

Currently, however, the main purpose of this center is to promote water and river sports, as well as water services and a mooring port. It has 150 moorings, ramp service, crane and gas station for boats. The Sant Pere Pescador Nautical Club also has a large car park, bar and restaurant. A small urbanization of the same name was later built around it
